Reel Flavor: The Ceviche Challenge is a high-energy culinary competition that brings the spirit of the coast to life through flavor, creativity, and teamwork. This engaging experience challenges each participant to design their own custom crab mallet and craft a signature Old Bay spice blend to take home, while collaborating with their team to develop a one-of-a-kind ceviche dish. Blending trivia, creativity, and culinary adventure, this event is perfect for an afternoon team-building activity or a pre-dinner mixer. Fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable—this is competition with a coastal twist.

Event Flow:

  1. Welcome & Icebreaker
    • Upbeat music and a lively coastal theme kick off the fun.
    • Icebreaker games like “Ocean Trivia” or “Crabby Truth or Dare” set the tone.
  2. Crew Challenge Brief
    • Each crew receives iPads® loaded with BridgeTheApp™, our interactive game platform. The facilitator explains the rules and introduces the challenge categories.
  3. Challenge Stations & Ingredient Hunt
    • Crews complete trivia, video, and photo challenges via the app to earn points. Points unlock access to the Coastal Market for ceviche ingredients and supplies for individual activities.
    • Stations include:
    – Ceviche Making Challenge (Team Activity) –
    crews collaborate to craft their signature ceviche dish.
    –Old Bay Spice Blend Station (Individual Activity) –
    each participant creates their own unique seasoning blend.
    Crab Mallet Design Challenge (Individual Activity) – each participant decorates a mallet with paint, decals, or branding flair.
    Marketing Challenge (Team Activity) – each crew develops a restaurant concept, complete with a catchy name and their signature ceviche as the star of the menu.
  4. Crew Presentations
    • Teams present their restaurant concept, signature ceviche, and display.
    • Presentations may include skits, jingles, or pitches — Shark Tank meets Food Network style.
  5. Judging & Awards
    • Medals are awarded for creativity, teamwork, presentation, and flavor.
    • Categories may include:

    • Best Overall Crew, Most Flavorful Ceviche, Best Restaurant Pitch
    • Best Mallet Design (Individual Award), Best Spice Blend (Individual Award)
